The role of Hedgehog signaling in other solid tumors

There are a variety of studies connecting Hedgehog pathway activity to tumor initiation and/or maintenance in a wide range of other human cancer types including prostate cancer and gastrointestinal tract malignancies.^19,20 However, more studies are needed to elucidate what role Hedgehog pathway activity plays in these tumors and how that role might be translated into useful treatments in a clinical setting.
