Considerations in untreated patients

• Treatment for DLBCL patients is initiated immediately following diagnosis due to the aggressive nature of the disease⁴⁶
• Despite the potential survival differences between patients with different prognoses, such as those with GCB- and/or ABC-like DLBCLs, these patients currently are being treated with similar treatment regimens²⁵
• Current research focuses on improving clinical outcomes, because approximately half of these patients relapse or are refractory after receiving first-line therapy⁴⁷
  • Increasing dose intensity and frequency of scheduling is currently an area under investigation⁴⁸
• Improvements in risk stratification may also help the transition toward a more personalized approach to treatment. Patients with a particularly high risk of disease progression following treatment may be monitored more closely or more aggressive treatment approaches may be considered^6,47
