Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL)
DLBCL is the most common aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), comprising approximately 30% of all NHLs1-3 (Table 1 for classification of B-cell lymphomas).
- The median age at diagnosis is 64 years4
- Although significant strides have been made in the treatment of DLBCL, only approximately half of patients remain disease free5
- Some patients either relapse after treatment or have primary refractory disease.3,5 Extensive research is ongoing to help improve long-term progression-free survival and overall survival in these patients6-8
- Although differential treatment based on prognostic markers is not yet a viable option, this approach is under continued exploration and may impact how treatments are used in the future7
