Anti-NRP1

NRP1 is a growth factor receptor that is important for promoting vascular growth and maturation.5-8 Anti-NRP1 is a monoclonal antibody designed to target NRP1 and inhibit angiogenesis and the subsequent vascular maturation that is necessary to form the functional vasculature that supports tumor growth.7,9

Anti-NRP1 has been shown to reduce tumor growth in preclinical models, both alone and in combination with VEGF inhibition.7,9 Furthermore, anti-NRP1 may complement and potentiate the antitumor effects of VEGF inhibition.7,9

  1. Anti-NRP1 is designed to specifically bind to NRP1, a key mediator of angiogenesis and vascular maturation.5-9

  2. Upon binding to NRP1, anti-NRP1 inhibits vascular growth and maturation as can be demonstrated by a reduction of pericyte recruitment to new vessels.9

  3. Preclinical studies suggest that vessels in the presence of anti-NRP1 are kept in an immature state with limited pericyte coverage.9 This may render them more sensitive to VEGF inhibition. When anti-NRP1 is combined with VEGF inhibition, additional vascular regression may be observed.9
